Getting started

Download OS Map

    Download the ZIP file.

    Right-click it and choose Extract All.

  3. 3

    Open the extracted folder, then the App folder.

  4. 4

    Run WinOS.App.exe.

OS Map is portable and does not require installation.

You will see files labelled "WinOS". WinOS is the internal build name used inside this release package.

To remove OS Map, simply delete the extracted folder.

After downloading, you can verify the file against the SHA-256 in the release details.

Before you launch

A couple of things to expect.

SmartScreen

Windows may show a SmartScreen warning for newly distributed software. Click More info → Run anyway to continue.

UAC

OS Map requests administrator privileges to access certain system information. Approve the prompt when requested.

This release focuses on visibility-first Windows navigation — giving you a clear, honest view of what your system is doing rather than changing it. It ships as a self-contained Windows x64 package built on .NET 9, so there is no separate runtime to install, and includes onboarding and tester materials to help you get started and report what you find.
